The home itself was built in 1878 for the first Magistrate west of the Blue Mountains, John Tom Lane. The home remained in the Lane family until 1966.

In 1999, in a rather run down state, Mrs Robyn Sainsbury took on the home as her own and began what was to be a magnificent restoration.

It began its life as a B&B under Robyn in 2000.The current owner, Marie Eedy, fell in love with the house and purchased it in 2003.
